One of those mixed weeks.
I made significant but slow progress on the WIP.
... if it's progress to toss out a chapter.
I folded the necessary elements from the discarded chapter into the next one.
Some lovely material hit the circular file.
Ouch.
It became a matter of deciding what has to happen onstage and what doesn't. I hardened my heart. The structure is better this way.
I still retain one lovely small chapter whose action is not absolutely essential to the storyline -- Adrian and Sebastian search Jess' bedroom.
Ok. Back to work.
Jo - your cover is up and waiting.
ReplyDeleteI hope you like it.
Hugs to ya!

Hi Jo -
ReplyDeleteJust surfed on over here via Lady M's blog.
I absolutely adore the Napoleonic period. A large portion of my history book collection pertains to this period - especially the love story between Napoleon and Josephine. Have you read Sandra Gulland's Josephine B. series? Excellent!
Keep on submitting those queries! This might be a hard period to sell, but I definitely believe the market is there!!!
Hi Melissa -
ReplyDeleteI haven't researched Napoleon himself much. He's not a character in any ms. Mostly I'm reading up on the everyday life in the era.
I'm lucky in that I have more books to read than time to read 'em.
