For those of you who don't follow Romance genre, the RITA is the Humongous Mother-Of-All-Contests Contest put on every year by the Romance Writers of America.
I'm in. I'm a finalist. I am so happy.
My agent sent me flowers.
When we're dealing at this level, getting the nomination is the win.
Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that you will get the RITA!!!
but I'm biased!
Congratulations, Jo! I'm giddy for you :) F.R. was such a great book. You deserve this!

ReplyDeleteThe problem with competing in the RITA is that you inevitably end up going head to head with the very books you enjoyed most last year and the writers you admire.
ReplyDeleteBut what a wonderful honor to be in that company. I just can't get over feeling great about this.
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it! I've been waiting for this since last June. You don't know how hard it's been for me not to write posts predicting FR would be nominated. I resisted temptation because I thought you would find it unnerving and jinxy.
ReplyDeleteSqueals and happy dancing (you don't want to see). Yay!
Congrats, congrats, congrats!!!! So happy for you!
ReplyDeleteFORBIDDEN ROSE was the best book of 2010, as far as I'm concerned. Huzzah!
I am feeling so good about this. My agent sent flowers. Did I say that? It's like somebody sending a kitten but, y'know, without the whole catbox, shedding fur trope.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations from a reader!
ReplyDeleteYour books have given me enormous pleasure in recent years, and I just want to say thank you.
Hmm. This has happened before. I detect a pattern.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Very well-deserved. I loved FR.
Hi Jane O --
ReplyDeleteI am so very glad you enjoyed the books.
Forget all about RITAs and Finalists and even the very nice, if small, checks I get for writing.
What is important is that folks read and like the books. Thank you for telling me.
Hi Martha --
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny. That just makes me grin.
Love the kitty pic. It reminds me of joy and a little bit of bragging, but you deserve to brag. Everyone is excited for you. It's a great opportunity and wish you the best.
ReplyDeleteThat kitteh is just utterly blissed out. Joy. Just joy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Hope you win!
ReplyDeleteJoanna,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations,
Such a huge acknowledgement of your talent being a Rita finalist,
Suzi
Congratulations! It's such a great honor to be a Rita finalist, and of course I hope Forbidden Rose will win!
ReplyDeleteIt IS an honor. This is recognition from other writers. This means so much to me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I look at the OTHER finalists. Just wonderful books. Just putting Forbidden Rose into that company is the greatest honor of all.
You deserve it WTG
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Not that I'm surprised or anything. When I saw on Kristin Nelon's blog that the finalists had been announced, I headed straight over here. 'Cause I knew you had to be on the list. [g]
ReplyDeleteHi mizwaller --
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you. You are so kind.
It took me about half a minute to figure out that WTG was 'Way To Go'. Sometimes I'm a little slow in the morning before I've had that second cup of coffee. *g*
Hi Beth --
ReplyDeleteShe has a cool blog, doesn't she? I don't exactly 'follow' it, but i do drop in from time to time. Very clear and useful stuff.
CONGRATULATIONS !!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a well-deserved nomination !! Your books are such a pleasure to read and read again! Fingers crossed and cheering for you in New York!
Congratulations Jo!
ReplyDeleteSo pleased to hear of your nomination! Congratulations. Will I see you in New York?
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you so much. I am not expecting to win a RITA. I am just so delighted to make it to Finalist.
ReplyDelete2 Blythe. I will be in New York for National, which is shaping up to be just a grand and wonderful blast this year. I will hope to see you there. So cool.
Congratulations, Jo! You rock. It is a supreme honor to make it to Finalist. I'll be crossing my fingers that you win. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Linda -- You do understand.
ReplyDeleteThe Finalist part is all joy. All WIN. It's only when I think about being in contention for the actual statue that my stomach starts to hurt.
So I won't think about that. *g*
