The Classic cover |
I have two offerings at Brenda Novak's auction. The first is all five of my books, including the hard copy of that first Sweet Romance from 1983. I'll dedicate them any way you want.
|
This is the 1983 book |
The auction doesn't say that I'm going to throw in about 10 pages of my draft of
The Spymaster's Lady along with this. The actual sheets with notes and writing on them. It's the scene just AFTER Grey and Annique make love in the bathtub where Doyle and Grey and Adrian are in the office talking. I found the pages stuffed into some old papers and I figger whoever buys the books might as well enjoy them.
The five books (and draft pages) are
here.
The other offering is a 20-page critique of your manuscript. I will try to be kindly and useful. That's found
here.
Well, isn't this enough to tempt one to take out a home equity loan!
ReplyDeleteIn re the critique -- I don't even know why I offer this. I mean -- how much good can I do somebody? I'm going to be challenged by this.
ReplyDeleteHi my name is Danita and I'm one of the volunteers on the auction. Thank you so much for your donation and helping us spread the word about the auction. Together with donors like you, the shoppers, sponsors and volunteers we are making a difference. I would also like to mention that tomorrow Brenda Novak's Online Auction For Diabetes Research will be having a final Twitter Party on May 27, 2012 at 1:00 PM PST hosted by Julie Rowe from Carina Press and will last until 2:00 PM PST. One lucky tweeter who uses the hashtag #bnda during the hour will receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card. Be sure to follow @bnovakauction to be part of the Twitter Party.
ReplyDeleteJo, anyone who can respond to questions about writing the way you do on your blog is going to be a tremendous help to a writer. Maurice Sendak said he had no idea what a children's book was. "The more you know . . . "
ReplyDeleteHi Annie --
ReplyDeleteWe will hope I can help. I should get the 20 pages to critique in a couple weeks.
I'll know pretty quick whether it's a
'here are the first fifty pieces of advice for a writer and I wish someone had given them to me' sort of thing,'
or a more specific
'why are your characters so unpleasant I wouldn't spend ten minutes with them let alone 396 pages just stop it will you' thing
or a
'Holy Professional Writer, Batman, what am I going to critique in this clean, brilliant writing?' thing.
