And I have a banner concept.
Not final. Not just the way it's going to look. But I expect it will bear some relationship to the final design.
The web designer is either pleased or tactful and we are talking technical details about drop down menus and search boxes. I like it that we've got to the point I have no idea what is going on and cannot add usefully to further websiting.
Could Romantic Scientist and Skittles get in touch with me. You guys won an ARC of Black Hawk. Hard decision, when everyone was so very helpful and intelligent. Yeah!
Oh! Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteemail forthcoming...
Congratulations Jo on your banner concept!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Romantic Scientist and Skittles on the ARCs!
I like this one a lot.
ReplyDeleteHi Martha,
ReplyDeleteI think it's going to be pretty once the web designer gets through with it.
Hi Jo, I just wanted to say thank you again! I came home from work last night to find my ARC of Black Hawk and devoured it all in one sitting (with a couple of breaks for tea and the ladies room). I couldn't put it down until I had finished it. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more. My expectations were sky high and they were surpassed. Thank you, thank you for letting me have this wonderful treat early and let me be among the first to say definitively- the best book I have read this year.
ReplyDeleteOh Christine,
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much. I have worried about whether Black Hawk will work. (I still worry.) The plot structure is different from anything I've tried before.
It's been very difficult to get what I wanted into the story and still maintain control of the pacing. Just about drove me nuts. And there's a chapter near the end . . . no, two chapters, I wish I could rewrite from scratch.
But ya gotta let the manuscripts go.
I am immersing myself in Pax right now, working on how to make his life miserable.
Love the banner!
ReplyDeleteHi S.L. --
ReplyDeleteThank ye kindly. I got good advice from everybody. Left to myself I would have studded it all over with nobbles and codwollopy.
It's lovely - way to go!
ReplyDeleteThe banner looks very nice.
ReplyDeleteThank ye kindly. All this simplicity was very hard for me to do. Somehow it's easier to put stuff in than to take it out.
ReplyDeleteI should KNOW that.
But you can't take stuff out before you put it in.

ReplyDeleteHi Annie --
ReplyDeleteRight. This is the old -- put something on the screen. Anything. But you can;t work with a blank screen.
Hi Jo,
ReplyDeleteLove the banner, and thanks so much for the ARC! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you - I somehow missed this post.
Can't wait to see the final website!
Hi Jo,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to share this link with you from Dear Author about what readers want to see on authors web sites. Not because you need the instructions (as I believe you correctly hit every single do and don't on the list) but because you might find it interesting after all the thought you have put into yours.

I totally agree about the music and the flash btw!
So glad you like the banner. The website is still under (slow) construction. I'm looking forward to seeing the end product myself. *g*
ReplyDeleteHi Christine --
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. So interesting.
And you are so right about music. Music is so often turned up loud and I've forgotten to mute. I hit the page and there I am in the library . . . embarrassed.
