Hi Jo! Love your Russian cover! At least they got the shirt right, forsooth. I don't care much for when a word became in common use. If it works, use it! Cheers! Lynne
What it is ... everybody is just supposed to enjoy the book. (Or, I suppose they can not enjoy the book if they want, though I'm sorry they're reading it in that case.)
Somebody just reading innocently along is not supposed to worry about the nitty gritty of the wording.
But, *cough*, I am.
You see the way I'm not being strict about historical usage ...? This is fairly evil of me in terms of historical writing.
I figger I should at least KNOW when I'm breaking rules. It's as if good intentions are the next best thing to morality or something specious like that.
Happy Mother's Day, Jo!
ReplyDeleteHey! Great portrait of Angeline Jolie!
ReplyDeleteBouguereau?

Oh. And I love the Russian cover too.
ReplyDeleteI also love the Spanish cover.
These are just wonderful gifts to me, these covers. All of them.
Hi Sherry --
ReplyDeleteBouguereau is a C19 French academic painter . . . well, you can see by looking.
Out of copyright is about the best one can say of him.
Hi All -- here and elsewhere --
ReplyDeleteBlogger seems to have eaten many comments. Now, like Cronus, it seems to have disgorged them.
Well good, says I.
