It is so cool when dialog can be placed in a scene where something necessary is happening.

This lets us break up the action with dialog and the dialog with action. Makes the pacing so sweet.Jo Bournehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13457862962618886252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15617001.post-27377805246455521762011-07-25T03:33:58.907-04:002011-07-25T03:33:58.907-04:00Story action...THANK YOU. We most likely have to have somebody SAY it.

Somebody over the years said all this to me, sometime or other. Thank you so much.

*Not because of your brilliant use of alliteration, but because you gave me this advice in B&W and it helped make my book that much better.Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09008153523366719973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15617001.post-759917121210511462008-07-02T15:55:00.000-04:002008-07-02T15:55:00.000-04:00Hi Rene --And as I say, stage action is not at all...Hi Rene --

And as I say, stage action is not at all wrong. It's strong and beautiful and useful. Look at what stage action means to playwrights.

We just have to know that we're doing stage action. We have to be in control.

For me, that control shows up in draft three or four, if at all.Jo Bournehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13457862962618886252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15617001.post-86281696091279790252008-07-02T15:25:00.000-04:002008-07-02T15:25:00.000-04:00story action vs. stagee action:thank you, thank yo...story action vs. stagee action:

thank you, thank you, thank you.

I really needed to read that.
